Every SunRail train starts right here in DeLand and heads south, through Orlando and on to Poinciana.

If you've ever sat in I-4 traffic on the way to Orlando, the train starts to look pretty good. DeLand is the first stop on the line and parking is free, so on a weekday it's an easy way to get where you're going.
I've put the ride time to every stop on this page, along with the fares, how to get into downtown DeLand from the station, and the latest on the airport and Disney Springs.

Here's the whole line, starting right here in DeLand, with about how long it takes to reach each stop. The times shift a few minutes from one train to the next, so it's worth a quick look at the live schedule before you head out.
Just know the trains only run Monday through Friday. The first one leaves DeLand at 5:15 in the morning and the last one at 9:55 at night, and you stay on the same train the whole way down.
As far as the fare, SunRail charges by county. It's $2 to ride to DeBary, $3 once you cross into Seminole County, and $4 anywhere in Orange County, which covers Winter Park and downtown Orlando. The last three stops, Tupperware down to Poinciana, are $5 one way. Riders 65 and up, ages 7 to 18, and riders with disabilities pay about half.

Not yet, but the state is studying it. The plan is called the Sunshine Corridor, and it looks at SunRail reaching Orlando International Airport, then the Orange County Convention Center, International Drive and the Disney Springs area, with transfers to Brightline.
It's still in the planning stage. The study is expected to finish in 2027, and at least half of the money would need to come from federal dollars, so there's no date yet for trains. Walt Disney World said in 2024 that it's open to a SunRail station at Disney Springs.

Most people drive over and park, since the lot is free. If you'd rather leave the car at home, VoRide can take you to or from the station for free, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 9 pm. It's Volusia County's on-demand bus service, run by Votran.
You can book in the VoRide app or call (386) 210-9861, up to a day ahead. If you're coming in on the train, book it while you're still riding so it's waiting when you step off. Uber and Lyft are an option too.

If you like the idea of having the train nearby, Pelham Square is worth a look. It's a new community by Starlight Homes, about eight-tenths of a mile from the station by road, so it's a quick drive over to the park-and-ride lot.
And for a wider look, my guide to DeLand's new communities and neighborhoods covers the rest.
If you're wondering about any of these, you're not alone. Here's what I'd tell you over coffee.
No, SunRail runs Monday through Friday only. From DeLand, the first train leaves at 5:15 in the morning and the last one at 9:55 at night, so a weekend trip to Orlando still means driving.
For an adult, it's $4 one way or $7.50 round trip, since downtown Orlando is in the Orange County fare. Riders 65 and up, ages 7 to 18, and riders with disabilities pay about half, so $2 one way.
About 56 minutes on most weekday trains, a few minutes more or less depending on the train. The ride to Church Street in downtown Orlando is about 71 minutes from DeLand.
Yes, parking at the DeLand station is free. It's a park-and-ride lot with about 100 parking spaces and a bus drop-off area, so you can just drive over and hop on the train.
Not yet. The state is studying a SunRail line to Orlando International Airport as part of the Sunshine Corridor plan, and that study is expected to finish in 2027. There's no date set for trains yet.
Not yet either. The Disney Springs area is one of the places in that same Sunshine Corridor study. Walt Disney World said in 2024 that it's open to a SunRail station there, but it's still in planning with no date set.
SunRail has 17 stops, from DeLand at the north end to Poinciana at the south end. The ride from DeLand to Poinciana is about 108 minutes, and it's the same train the whole way.
If having the station close by sounds good to you, call or text me at 386-287-2221. I'd be happy to show you what's for sale near the DeLand station and help you find a home that fits.
